Art for the Soul, Inspired by the Sun

Vidriosa Glassworks was founded in 1994 by Jerry & Jo Ordonez.

To this day Vidriosa has provided an outlet for my self-taught creative efforts. From the time I was a little girl I can always remember challenging the norms in what I was taught as traditional art.  From oils to sculpture, I just couldn't stick to the classical plan of my teachers, which frustrated them to no end.  Over time, I found an outlet for my passion, glass and creating objects that were free-formed not conventional at all.

Each of my pieces reflects an original design that has been roughly sketched in my journal.  As an Engineer, the creative process can be quite a challenge, but I believe that the feeling of each piece should dictate where and what direction it takes and by that will hopefully evoke a feeling or reaction from those viewing my pieces.

I do my best to select each glass gem, prism, rhinestone, bevels and cut and fuse glass  so that it will be the best compliment for my design vision.  .  IF the availability of color or size is limited, the gems are created by cutting and firing glass.  The glass is then hand leaded,  shaped, soldered and patina to bring the design to life.

Tomorrow is another day and there will be new inspiration at every turn...
